The Town of Babylon Community Development Program (CDP) develops programs to improve community facilities, principally for persons of low and moderate income. The program also prevents and/or eliminates of blight within our communities and for the development of affordable housing programs.
Funding is provided by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program through the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (P.L. 93-383). This program, administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), requires that we develop our programs based upon a Consolidated Plan and that we work with town residents and non-profit agencies to identify needs.
