Green Towers Presents Checks to Town of Babylon Youth Organizations and the Public Library 6/28/2010 

The North Babylon Youth Club was presented with a $5,000 check from Green Towers on Friday, June 25th.  The North Babylon Community Youth Services operates programs 12 months a year for grades K through 12. The money will be used to revitalize the game room that Supervisor Bellone paid for about 5 years ago.

Mike Marzocca, North Babylon Athletic Club President, was presented with a $5,000 check from Green Towers to support their various programs including football, lacrosse, cheer-leading and basketball.

Mike Filippone, North Babylon Youth League President, was presented with a $5,000 check from Green Towers to support their athletic programs, including baseball, softball, and a challenger program for handicapped children.  About 700 children participate in the youth league and their ages range from 5 to 18.  Holly Lambert, Secretary of the Youth League, said that "many children are able to play more than one sport during the same season because all the leagues work together. It really is a great thing."

Marc Horowitz, North Babylon Public Library Director, was presented with a $5,000 check from Green Homes.  The money will be used for children's programming and the summer reading program.  About 1,000 kids participate in this book club, and the library also offers young adult and adult book clubs as well.
