Resident Recreation Permit for Bay & Ocean Town Beaches
Resident recreation permits are a convenient cost savings for residents to use Town beaches and parks. For only $25 a year, residents can avoid paying the per-visit usage fees charged.
Permit Fees: Town Residents: $25, Senior Citizens: $15
The stickers may be purchased in the Office of the Receiver of Taxes at Town Hall, at the Recreation Offices at Phelps Lane Park or at the Cedar Beach Marina. Requirements for resident recreation permits are as follows:
1. Double proof of residency - tax/utility bill
2. Vehicle registration
Senior citizens (over 60) should bring their senior citizen card or proof of age. Town residents without a resident recreation permit will be charged the non-resident fee.
Ocean Beaches, Ocean Parkway
Cedar Beach and Gilgo Beach -- open to all
Overlook Beach -- town residents only
Note: Vehicles will be required to have a resident recreation permit or be subject to facility usage fees during pre-season and season dates.
Pre-Season:
May 25 - June 16
Weekends & holidays only: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Lifeguards on duty: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Summer Season:
June 22- September 2
Open daily: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Lifeguards on duty: Weekends & holidays: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Weekdays: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Facility Usage Fees:
Free to residents w/resident recreation permits.
Season Pool Plan
Season pool plans may be purchased in the Office of the Receiver of Taxes at Town Hall or at the Recreation Offices at Phelps Lane Park. Requirements for season pool plans are as follows:
1. Double proof of residency - tax/utility bill
2. Birth certificate, library card or report card of children over 3 years old. Children, ages 3-12, must be accompanied by an adult.
Season Pool Plan Fees: The Town of Babylon offers residents the option to purchase a family pool plan for the summer season. The family pool plan is $70 and grants unlimited access to all Town pools for the entire summer. The term "family" in this context means primary guardians and their dependents under the age of 18. Any family member over the age of 18 can not be included on the family plan and must purchase an individual pool plan or daily tickets if they wish to use the facilities. When purchasing a family pool plan you must show proof of guardianship for any children in your care; this includes nieces, nephews, grandchildren and foster children.

General Fees:
Children (ages 3-12, with an adult) and adults daily: $3.00
Non-residents and residents without proof of residency, children/adults daily: $7.50
