Beacon Family Wellness Center
The Town of Babylon Division of Drug and Alcohol Services' Beacon Family Wellness Center provides comprehensive, affordable, and accessible chemical dependency treatment services to residents. The Town of Babylon supports residents and their families in their recovery process through information and referral, education, counseling, interaction with other agencies, and a commitment to self-help. Services of this agency include:

The services are offered for a fee based on a sliding scale based on income to residents who are currently abusing drugs or have a history of substance abuse. Family members or significant others who are experiencing difficulty living with a loved one who is abusing substances are also eligible. This program is funded by the Town of Babylon, New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services, and Suffolk County Department of Mental Hygiene.

The Town operates the Beacon Family Wellness Center; a NYS OASAS licensed outpatient substance abuse treatment facility. It is located at 281 Phelps Lane in North Babylon and our direct number is (631) 422-7676. The Program provides treatment services to Town of Babylon residents and their families who have been affected by substance abuse. The Program offers a wide variety of treatment services and is open from 9:00 AM through 9:00 PM.

Beacon Family Wellness Center is licensed by the State of New York and staffed with Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Masters of Social Workers (LMSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselors (CASAC). The Program provides confidential outpatient treatment services to Town of Babylon residents and their families who have been affected by substance use. Please call the office at (631) 422-7676 between the hours of 9:00 AM through 9:00 PM and inform the staff that you would like to make an initial assessment appointment.
- How long is a typical program?

Each patient’s program length is based upon the individual’s specific needs, goals and situation. There is no set timeframe or duration for program treatment. A counselor will work with each individual to create a patient-centered treatment plan with specific goals and milestones the patient wishes to accomplish during their time in the Program. Admission into the Program is voluntary and patients are entitled to discontinue treatment at any time for any reason.

The HOPEline operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The HOPEline responds to callers and follows-up to ensure that individuals receive the care and treatment they need. HOPEline provides support and additional referrals as appropriate.
HOPEline provides callers with access to bilingual staff to provide services in English, Spanish, Bengali, Traditional Chinese, Haitian-Creole, Korean, and Russian.
The DASH Hotline & Crisis Care Center are available 24-hours a day. The Hotline number is 631-952-3333. Family Service League’s DASH Crisis Care Center is an inspiration of hope for Suffolk County residents who are struggling to cope.

- Is there a fee or cost for services?

There are costs associated for services, but no individual is denied assistance based on their inability to pay. If an individual does not have medical insurance coverage, an individual’s income and our sliding fee scale determine the fees. All individuals entering the program must show proof of income when requesting services. Medicaid and most insurances are accepted. Patients are responsible for their copays.

The Beacon Family Wellness Center is operated by the Town of Babylon, and is required by law to protect the privacy of your Protected Health Information (PHI). Beacon Family Wellness Center is also required to provide you with a copy of our Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes our information and privacy practices. Beacon Family Wellness Center adheres to all HIPAA and federal laws and guidelines pertaining to patient confidentiality.
