2022 Recreation Permits

2022 Town of Babylon Beach Permit Fees: 

Resident: $45 
Senior (60+): $20, NYS Driver’s License Must Indicate an Age of 60+ 
Veteran/Active Military: $20 
Active Town of Babylon Volunteer Fire Department Member: $20 

Required Documents for All Beach Permit Purchases (Online & In Person):

  1. NYS Driver’s License with address in the Town of Babylon. 
  2. NYS Car Registration(s) all with matching names and addresses.

Additional Documents Required Based on Your Status as a Volunteer Firefighter, Veteran, Snowbird, or Company Car (Online & In Person): 

  1. Volunteer Firefighter: Town of Babylon Volunteer Firefighter ID Card needs to be uploaded 
  2. Veteran/Active Military: DD214 needs to be uploaded, if designated on license, please indicate that when uploading, or Active Military ID Card. 
  3. Snowbird: Snowbird Affidavit needs to be uploaded 
  4. Company Car: A letter on company letterhead (must be typed) stating: 
    1. That the resident has been assigned to that particular vehicle for the year and that they are allowed to use the vehicle for recreational purposes. 
    2. The vehicle information (year, make, model, plate, & VIN#) 
    3. The resident's name listed as sole driver, and resident's address as it appears on the driver's license. 
    4. The company's name and address as it appears on the car registration. 

Replacement Beach Permit Procedure: 

To receive a replacement permit, the original permit must be taken off the vehicle (no photos) & submitted to the Parks Department. Please note that the permit is designed to shred when removed from the vehicle. 

Replacement Beach Permit Steps:

  1.  Write the permit number down
  2.  Remove the permit from the car 
  3. Bring the permit, documentation of the new vehicle purchased/leased (bill of sale or lease agreement), and the permit number to the Parks & Recreation Department located at 151 Phelps Lane in North Babylon, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 4 pm. 

Online Sales Information: 

Online sales for 2022 have ended. If you are still in need of a beach pass, please see below for how to purchase a pass in-person.

*** Please note: that if you order your pass online, proof of purchase (printed or digital receipt) will be required if your pass does not arrive by June 25th. Starting July 2nd, residents must have a 2022 Beach Permit on their vehicle to enter Town Beaches, otherwise the daily entrance fee will be charged at Cedar Beach and Gilgo Beach (a 2022 beach permit is required for Overlook Beach). 

In Person Sales Information:

In-person permits can be purchased daily at Gilgo Beach from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Three (3) items are needed to complete your in person transaction:

  1. License
  2. Registration
  3. Credit or Debit Card Only - (No Cash - No Checks)

  2. Seniors 60+/Active Military & Veterans/ Volunteer Fire & EMS - $20

*** Please note: if you purchased your pass in-person, permits on your vehicle are required for daily entrance starting June 25 through Labor Day. Residents without a permit will be required to pay the daily rate.
