A graduate of West Babylon High School and UMass Amherst, Receiver of Taxes Jennifer Montiglio was born and raised right here in the Town of Babylon. Prior to serving as an elected official, she worked in the fashion district for 10 years. She started her own business in 2005 and has now been a small business owner for the last 18 years. In addition to being a small business owner, she is also an active member of the chamber of commerce in her community. She has received numerous awards and recognitions including Women of Distinction, 40 under 40 and Business of the Year.
Elected Tax Receiver in November of 2019, Jennifer took office in January 2020 and hit the ground running. Since arriving at Town Hall, she has made significant upgrades to the Tax Office to benefit constituents and make their experience easier. Some changes have included: outside tax collection booths, which allow residents to pay their taxes without leaving their vehicles; adding drop box locations in Town Hall and the Town Hall Annex; upgrading the online payment portal; and expanding office hours.
Currently, Jennifer and her husband reside in Babylon Village where they are raising their young children. She is passionate about fundraising for various non for profits including habitat for humanity, breast cancer coalition and leukemia and lymphoma society. Outside of work Jennifer enjoys spending time with her close-knit family and friends. She is also a cheer coach, class mom and daisy leader.
