Cannabis And Our Youth: What Every Parent Should Know

This workshop is designed for anybody who has a young person in their life, either personally or professionally. There is a great deal of confusion surrounding Cannabis products and the risks for young people including the impact on their mental health.

So please join us to learn about the new trends including high THC levels, concentrates and edibles, so you can begin a conversation about this with the young person in your life.

John M Venza, LCSW-R, LMHC Vice President of Adolescent & Residential Services & Business Development, Outreach

John M. Venza, LCSW-R, LMHC is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker and New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has been working with children, adolescents, and families for over 41 years, starting in 1982. 

Mr. Venza is well known for his expertise in practice with adolescents and young adults in New York City and especially Long Island. Additionally, he is the author of five graduate level courses on adolescence, which comprised the Institute for Adolescent Studies at SUNY Stony Brook, where he taught graduate school for almost 13 years. He is a former recipient of the Glass-Kreuter teaching award from Stony Brook and has been featured on WPIX News, CBS News, News 12’s series “People Making a Difference on Long Island”, NPR radio, CNN, Newsday, NY Post, Behavioral Health News, Parents Magazine, and Life with Teens, for his work with adolescents and families.
