[ARCHIVED] Community Shows Support for Local Teen at Kayla’s Country Fest

This past weekend Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer and Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez were in attendance for Kayla’s Country Fest – a fundraiser to benefit Kayla Vinciguerra, a local 17 year old girl battling a variance of Dandy Walker Syndrome. Kayla was diagnosed with the rare brain condition at the age of 5 and relies completely on others for care. The event to support Kayla and her family was held at Fireman’s Memorial Pavilion in Lindenhurst and featured raffles, children’s attractions, line dancing and live music from country groups such as Rattlesnake Dawn and Stagecoach. A portion of the proceeds were also donated to Angela’s House, which supports families whose children require assistance due to a severe disability or medical condition.

Those looking to lend support to Kayla and her family can send a check payable to Kayla’s Fund to 276 37th Street, Lindenhurst, NY 11757. For more information, please contact Tina Gallagher at 631-872-1073.
