Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer recently joined Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez at the 6th Annual Babylon Art Festival. The event, which is sponsored by the Town of Babylon and the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA), featured an exhibit of artwork from students representing Babylon Village School District, Farmingdale State College, and Dowling College. 26 students were the recipients of scholarship awards for their art.
Supervisor Schaffer commended the scholarship recipients for their impressive artwork.
Receiving Awards of Excellence were Emmeline Gaare, Jillian Gaare, Emily Guerra, Chandler McMillan, Amanda Cancel, Rebecca Marmaroff, David Martens, Kristen Steinhardt, Kelsey Lee Franciosa, Maria Karakasheva, and Joey Mensch. Receiving Honorable Mentions were Jake Citarella, Erin MacQuarrie, Jenna Redmond, Anna Romero, Julianna Vota, Emma Ward, Giovhanny Archer, Deanna Cartelli, Alexandria Petersen, Savannah Spinelli, Amanda Fichter, Elexis Harris, Jeannine Lombardo, and Brittany Richtman.
