On Friday,
November 18th, the Town of Babylon Food Pantry received a generous donation
of over 4,000 lbs. of food from the Helping Hands Foundation. With the help of DiCarlo
Foods, Connoisseur Media, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Stop & Shop Metro Division
and individual donors, Adventureland’s nonprofit organization delivered 120
Thanksgiving turkeys and 100 Thanksgiving baskets—filled with soups, canned
vegetables, stuffing, potatoes, gravy and more—to the local food pantry to
assist residents in need this holiday season.
The Helping
Hands Foundation was founded in 2013 and supports the Long Island community by
increasing awareness about local issues, supporting local initiatives, and
providing educational resources for community residents. For more information
about Helping Hands, please visit www.helpinghandsli.org.
The Town of
Babylon Food Pantry is located at 1 Commerce Blvd. in Amityville and seeks
donations of non-perishable food items, especially during the holiday season.
