Posted on: June 26, 2017[ARCHIVED] Eagle Scout Constructs Stage for Local Church
Town of Babylon Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez recently joined with Town Special Assistant Terry McSweeney at a Court of Honor ceremony for new Eagle Scout Matthew Desrosiers, of West Babylon. The Eagle Scout is the highest rank achievable in the Boy Scouts Organization. Desrosiers, a member of Troop 2014, constructed a stage for the youth group to use at the First Presbyterian Church in Babylon Village. He also added several “throw” rugs to help make the room more welcoming and cozy.
Deputy Supervisor Martinez commended Desrosiers for his achievement and service to the community and presented him with an official Town of Babylon proclamation. At a recent meeting of the Babylon Town Board, Resolution No. 513 was passed, which officially proclaimed June 28, 2017 as “Eagle Scout Matthew Desrosiers Day” in the Town of Babylon.
