[ARCHIVED] Statement regarding 2017-18 tax payments-

Due to the unique circumstances surrounding the paying of 2017-18 taxes, Receiver of Taxes Corinne DiSomma and her staff are reviewing payments made on the Town’s nearly-70,000 parcels on a case-by-case basis. As an example, some residents paid their first and second half property taxes, while their bank also sent their first half payment. Her staff must review all of this information parcel-by-parcel.

This is an effort to protect our residents from issues such as an IRS Audit or overpayments by providing the most accurate information possible. Please be mindful that this process may take several weeks (although we are trying to complete it quicker) because of the large number of tax parcels and rarity of the actions taken by the federal government on tax reform. We thank you for your patience, and look forward to providing you clarity and everything you will need for your personal or business income tax filing well in advance of April 15, 2018. Please call the Tax Receiver’s Office at (631) 957-3004 to receive a status update of your payment.
