[ARCHIVED] Zion Gospel Church Donates Holiday Gift Baskets for Resident Moms & Children of Resurrection House
The holiday spirit was evident at Resurrection House on Monday December 17th as local elected officials and members of the Zion Gospel Church of Copiague visited the shelter and its outstanding and dedicated staff. Resurrection House is the first established shelter in Suffolk County that provides emergency shelter and programs to homeless women and children.
Each year, for the Holiday Season as well as for Mother’s Day, the dedicated Zion Gospel Church members bring joy by bestowing gifts upon the resident mothers and children that reside at Resurrection House. Supervisor Rich Schaffer, Councilman Terence McSweeney, Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre representative Brendan Cunningham and representatives from the town Beautification Program, a volunteer based initiative, thanked Zion Gospel Church Executive Director Dr. Clementine Price, as well as Zion Gospel Administrator Marion Rhatigan, for providing the generous and much needed gifts of clothing and toys to all the mothers and their children.
Supervisor Schaffer and Resurrection House Board president, Kevin Lucey commended Zion Gospel Church for its continuous support and standing tradition of helping those in need throughout the year. Dr. Price and Marion Rhatigan were presented with special citations and recognized for their kindness, generosity and continuous support for Resurrection House as well as the surrounding community.
Under the tutelage of Director Carolann Johns, Resurrection House provides special programs and shelter for several families.
