It’s official! The park at the south west corner of Great Neck Road and Dixon Avenue in Copiague has been officially named Gateway Park. Deputy Supervisor Tony Martinez, Councilwoman Jackie Gordon and Beautification Director Viscel Moore were there for the ribbon cutting and dedication with the Copiague Chamber of Commerce. Gateway Park located at the entrance or “gateway” to the downtown Copiague area is also the sight of the Copiague Chamber of Commerce’s Adopt-a-Spot in the Town of Babylon’s Beautification Program.
As a special bonus, the Friends of Copiague Library were recognized for the Little Free Library they built and had installed at the park. The Little Free Library is meant to inspire and encourage young people to read through the sharing of books for years to come.
