Town of Babylon Councilman and Small Business Committee Chairman Anthony Manetta announced that three seminars for local business owners to learn more about different opportunities to help their businesses grow will be held at Old Town Hall this year.

  • How to become a government contractor, a step-by-step guide on how to get your business ready to bid – Wednesday, February 26
  • How to get New York State Minority Woman-owned Business Enterprise certification and how it connects to government bids – Thursday, April 16
  • Access to Capital through various loan programs – Wednesday, June 10
  • Each session begins at 5:30pm and ends at 7:30pm on it’s respective date

“Since taking office in 2018, I’ve spent a lot of time working with business owners here in the Town of Babylon. I have seen the challenges they face whether they are maintaining a large corporation, expanding their established small business, or starting from scratch,” said Councilman Manetta. “I’d like to thank the U.S. SBA for bringing these seminars to Babylon and look forward to seeing many business owners at each session,” he added.

“The U.S. Small Business Administration New York District Office is proud to present free workshops in Babylon to assist small businesses start, grow and expand in Suffolk County and beyond. These classes are a great way for entrepreneurs to get an understanding of SBA programs at no cost. We thank Councilman Manetta for inviting us to participate in this series,” said SBA New York District Director Beth Goldberg.

“The Farmingdale SBDC is thrilled to partner with the Town of Babylon and provide presenters to help small businesses learn how to expand and grow their businesses by working with the government,” said Farmingdale State University Small Business Development Center Regional Director Erica Chase-Gregory. “These seminars will help small businesses understand how to take advantage of the millions in government contracts that are available today,” she added.
