I would like to build a front porch on my house. What is the required distance I need to be from the street?
In order to build a front porch on your house, you must file a Building Permit Application with the Building Division to obtain a building permit. Usually front porches are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine if a variance is required from the Zoning Board of Appeals.

If you have any questions regarding front porches and decks, please call the Building Division, (631) 957-3058.
